Week 1: Mapping Psychology to Astrology for Shadow and Inner Child Work: We learn the principles and history of the shadow and inner child in psychology to understand the terminology, concepts, and how it relates to the whole-self, the healthy adult self. We then map, or translate, the terminology and concepts to humanistic astrological principles and techniques, providing a foundation for revealing your shadow and inner child in your astrology chart.

Week 2: Getting Started with Using Astrology for Shadow and Inner Child Work: We will cover three of the best-known ways of how to identify the shadow-self and inner child qualities using astrology. These techniques include using the polarities (opposing archetypes), using certain astrological objects identified as foundational for psychological work, and using challenging aspects. We will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each, and build a unified system to reveal the shadow and inner child qualities. We will also explore real-life charts showing how the shadow energy is expressed.

Week 3: Revealing the Shadow, Inner Child, and Whole-Self Qualities in Your Chart, Part 1: We start looking at the Signs, Ruling Planets, and Houses and how these have a shadow-side and an inner child set of qualities. We will also identify the potential integrated versions, the whole-self or healthy adult qualities, for each archetype. We will also learn which aspects are the most critical to understand. Applying this information to your own chart and life is foundational to your understanding of your shadow-side, inner child, and healthy whole-self. In Week 3, we will work through the first part of these archetypes, taking our time to go deep into each one, then continuing and finishing in Week 4.

Week 4: Revealing the Shadow, Inner Child, and Whole-Self Qualities in Your Chart, Part 2: We will continue our journey with the remaining Signs, Ruling Planets, and Houses and how these have a shadow-side and an inner child set of qualities. We will also identify the potential integrated versions, the whole-self or healthy adult qualities, for each archetype. We will also look at the angles and Black Moon Lilith. Applying this information to your own chart and life is foundational to your understanding of your shadow-side, inner child, and healthy whole-self.

Week 5: Seeing the Shadow and Inner Child in Your Chart and Life: We will explore real-life charts of people who have lived openly in their shadow side, both those who have denied it (or used it harmfully) and those who have integrated it healthily. We wil identify and explore several techniques and practices that allow you to both identify and deepen your understanding of the shadow and inner child in your astrology chart. We will start to explore techniques to help you integrate these into your whole-self, your best healthy adult self.

Week 6: Path to Your Healthy Whole-Self: We will focus on how to implement the cycle of shadow work in our own lives. In addition to reviewing what we learned in this course, we will focus on learning sustainable practices, activities, and processes that allow us to explore, embrace, heal, and integrate our shadow and inner child into our whole-self. For those students who volunteer, we will explore a part of your chart that may reveal part of your shadow, and then discuss potential healing techniques.
